I recently moved to take another job in academia. I’m with the big boys now in college administration. The offer was too good to resist, and the move from That Horrid New England State was long overdue.
I’m now further south, on the water, and among people who, so far, seem to actually care about the students, faculty, and the mission that goes along with being a higher ed institution. At some point I may delve into my experiences at a Large Nationally Recognized Public University, but for now I’ll just say that I’m on day 3 away from that mess and I couldn’t be happier.
The family moved too, and we’re still unpacking. The cat had some trauma (as did my ex-husband) but all in all, we seem to be adjusting to the heat and humidity a lot better. I know that I am less stressed and my commute is now 8 minutes down a winding country-ish route instead of 45 minutes through hellish I-84 traffic.
Oh…and there’s a pool. I forgot how much I love the sun and swimming… it’s fantastic. Life is looking much better. We’ll see how the coming fall semester goes, as I bring the new college’s website up and wrestle with the design firm that was hired long before I was.

Maybe I’ll work my way through these to get the whole picture before I give my diagnosis.
Nothing so far to indicate you would be hearing those voices.
Until the xrays (the dosage is low and they are virtual anyway) come back why don’t you elevate your feet and enjoy this new job, and take the boy fishing, and post the photos of the catch instead of lying about it like I would.
