Week 3 & 4

I’ve fallen off the wagon in terms of posting about my running.  It was good while it lasted.

This doesn’t mean the running has stopped.  In fact, I’m still running and went for a long run this morning… but it does mean that I keep forgetting to post about it.  New habits die quickly, I guess.

There are some important lessons I’ve learned over the last week or so though, and I thought I would share them with you:

  • Do not invite friends to run with you unless you’re prepared to have your routine jerked around and blown to hell.
  • Invest in the right training collar if your dog is an insane puppy and will chase any whiff or whim of water fowl that she comes across.
  • Do not take The Boy running if he has a cough.
  • Pay attention to the weather forecast.  Flash flooding is not positive running motivation.
  • Do not go running once you catch The Boy’s cough.
  • Do not paint your nails a few hours before running.  They are never quiet dry in that time even if they feel like it.
  • Make sure your new pedometer is fastened tightly before taking off. (We’ll miss you Red, where ever you are.)
  • (For me) Do not drink water while running unless you want to be sick in front of the ducks.
  • Invest in good running shoes.
  • Do not tie said running shoes too tightly or your feet will cramp.
  • Make sure everyone *ahem*BOY*ahem* goes potty before beginning a run.
  • Above all else, listen to your body.
